Afghanistan: 23 Taliban killed in clashes with security forces


KABUL: Clashes with security forces in three Afghan provinces have killed 23 Taliban.
According to Afghan media, a total of 23 militants were killed and nine others, including a key commander, were wounded during military operations in Baghdad, Ghazni and Maidan Wardak.
According to Afghan officials, clashes with security forces killed 17 Taliban in Baghdad province, six in Ghazni and six in Maidan.
On the other hand, the Taliban have not yet confirmed the death of any militant.
In May, an airstrike by Afghan forces killed 35 Taliban.
In the Afghan provinces of Paktika and Paktia, Afghan forces launched an airstrike on the Taliban, killing 35 Taliban and wounding 21.
