KARACHI: French experts have decoded the black box, flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, according to sources. Yes, the French experts handed over all the records and decoded data of the crashed plane to the head of the Pakistani investigation team who will arrive in Pakistan today with important evidence.
Air Commodore Usman Ghani is currently investigating the plane crash with an Airbus team in France. Usman Ghani had recently left for France with the Airbus team carrying two important equipment of the plane. Sources said that the Director of Civil Aviation, Air Transport, has written a letter to the Chief Operating Officer of PIA regarding the air travel of Air Commodore Usman Ghani.
AAIB chief Usman Ghani will arrive in Islamabad today from Freakfurt on PIA flight PK8734. The Aviation Division and Islamabad Airport management have also been informed about his return to Pakistan. In addition, the scope of investigation into the PIA plane crash has been extended to the Air Traffic Controller. According to CAA sources, the Aircraft Accident and Investigation Board has obtained evidence from Lahore Airport.
Sources said that all the data related to the accident has been sealed and handed over to the investigation board while records have also been obtained from Lahore Control Tower, Approach, Area Control Tower. On the other hand, Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said that the government will release an investigation report into the tragic incident. "I feel the pain of the bereaved families," he said. He said that the government would also help the injured in the plane crash who have been given Rs 5 lakh each. He said that the government has a responsibility to protect the citizens.
