Similarly, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jin, while expressing concern over the current situation of Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir, said that the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir is in danger of deteriorating. On August 5, 2019, India unilaterally changed the status of Kashmir through constitutional amendments. India's move has raised tensions in the region.
