A case of destruction of building and loss of life and property due to blast in Karachi has been registered in Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station while CCTV footage also came to light. The explosion in the residential building Allah Noor apartment near Maskan Chowrangi became a mystery while the investigating agencies started a meticulous investigation expressing suspicion on declaring the horrific blast as gas leakage. According to details, the blast took place in Allah Noor apartment, a residential building near Maskan Chowrangi. Earlier, a blast had taken place in a restaurant adjacent to the same bank in the said building on January 9 this year in which three employees were injured.
According to Gulshan-e-Iqbal police, the injured had stated that gas came out of the stove pipe during the cleaning, which caused an explosion in the restaurant due to accumulation of gas. The scene after the blast looked as if an explosive device had exploded there. A similar horrific blast the previous day after the blast has left investigators confused.
According to sources, the investigating agencies have expressed doubts over the initial report of the Bomb Disposal Squad. The investigating agency has started a meticulous investigation to find out the cause of the blast. Police and SSGC teams have gone to the spot for further investigation. Plaintiff Muhammad Arif told the police in the case that he and other employees of the bank were present when a loud explosion occurred at 9.25 am and the roof of the bank's mezzanine floor collapsed. After the explosion, he fell out of the bank and saw the injured being taken to hospital.
